Taiwanese rapper Dwagie (大支) will make his European debut at Dutch music fest Eurosonic Noorderslag, a four-day series of concerts and trade conferences at Groningen of northern Netherlands.
Dwagie is a Taiwanese rapper, songwriter, and TV personality who uses hip-hop to address political and social concerns. He has previously collaborated with American hip-hop artist NAS ("Refuse to Listen") and the Dalai Lama ("People").
His 2015 English-language mini-album “Refuse to Listen (不聽)” was produced by Ghostface Killah of the Wu-Tang Clan, and features tracks worked on by longtime Kanye West collaborator, Talib Kweli.
The rapper will join a roster of international artists at Café de Zolder on Jan. 15 and club LOLA on Jan. 16. All city center concerts under Eurosonic offer admission-free entry. He will then join another concert at the Winston Kingdom at the heart of Amsterdam’s Red Light District on Jan. 19.
A Taiwan delegation will also promote Taiwanese acts such as Forests (森林), Jade Eyes (孔雀眼), ATW Girl (逆風少女), Jill Stark (葉家綺), Orientone (大聲東), OVDS, P.C.B. (理化兄弟), PROJECT APJ, and Skip Skip Ben Ben (斑斑) at the Eurosonic trade conference.
